How to Use Mirror Mode to Fix a Sway in Handy Golf
Handy Golf’s Mirror Mode is a useful way to work on specific swing characteristics in real time. One common issue it can help with is a sway, where the body moves too far laterally during the backswing instead of rotating efficiently.
By using the line drawing tool, you can create a simple visual reference to check whether your hips are moving too far away from their starting position.
Steps
- Open Mirror Mode in Handy Golf Start by entering Mirror Mode so you can see your setup and swing position live.
- Select the line drawing tool Choose the line tool from the drawing options.
- Draw a vertical reference line Draw a straight vertical line on the screen. This line will act as your guide for detecting lateral movement.
- Set the line near your hip Get into your golf posture and position the vertical line around your trail hip or the side of your hip you want to monitor.
- Move to the top of your backswing Slowly rehearse your backswing while watching your hip position in relation to the line.
- Check for sway If your hip moves significantly over or past the line, you may be swaying too much. If it stays close to the line while you turn, you are likely maintaining better control.
- Repeat for feedback Continue making slow practice swings and use the line as feedback. The goal is to feel a more stable lower body while rotating into the backswing.
Why This Helps
A sway can make it harder to strike the ball consistently because it changes your balance, low point, and ability to rotate back through impact. Using Mirror Mode gives you instant visual feedback so you can see whether you are staying centered or drifting too far laterally.
This is a simple but effective way to use Handy Golf to improve body control and build a more repeatable golf swing.
