How to Connect Full Swing KIT to the Handy Golf App

This guide walks you through connecting a Full Swing KIT launch monitor to the Handy Golf app and using it inside the Swing Recorder. Once connected, you can capture swing video, attach launch monitor data, review ball flight metrics, customize data tiles, and save swings to your library.

Before you begin

Make sure the following are ready before connecting:

  • Your phone has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
  • Your Full Swing KIT is powered on.
  • Your Full Swing KIT has already been paired in the Full Swing app at least once so you can access the KIT device ID.
  • The Full Swing KIT is not currently connected to the Full Swing app. The device can only maintain one active connection at a time.
  • You have the HandyGolf app open and are ready to use the Swing Recorder.

Connect Full Swing KIT to Handy Golf

  1. Open the HandyGolf app.
  2. Go to the Swing Recorder.
  3. Select Launch Monitor Mode.
  4. Choose Full Swing as the launch monitor option.
  5. The app will display the available Full Swing KIT ID.
  6. Tap the KIT device ID to connect.
  7. Wait for HandyGolf to connect to the Full Swing KIT.

Once connected, you can begin recording swings with launch monitor data attached.

Record a swing with Full Swing KIT data

  1. In the Swing Recorder, select the club you are using.
    • For example, choose a 9-iron if you are hitting a 9-iron.
    • This selection will also update the club on the Full Swing KIT.
  2. Step into frame so your swing is visible on camera.
  3. Hit your golf shot.
  4. The Full Swing KIT will track the full ball flight.
  5. HandyGolf will process the recording and display your swing video with the shot data attached.

Review your swing and data

After the shot is processed, you can use Handy Golf’s normal analysis tools, including:

  • Drawing tools
  • Video playback controls
  • Swing review tools
  • Launch monitor data tiles

To view all available data, tap the expand button. This opens the full data view so you can review the metrics captured by the Full Swing KIT.

Normalize launch monitor data

In the expanded data view, you can tap the Normalize button in the top-right corner.

When enabled, normalization will:

  • Normalize the displayed shot data
  • Put the Full Swing KIT into normalization mode

You can tap the same control again to turn normalization off.

Customize data tiles

HandyGolf lets you choose which data tiles are shown during playback.

  1. Open the expanded data tile view.
  2. Select the data tiles you want to display, such as spin rate or ball speed.
  3. Deselect any tiles you do not want to see.
  4. Close the data selection view.
  5. Scroll through the selected tiles at the bottom of the screen.

You can also press and hold a data tile, then drag it to rearrange the order.

Show or hide controls and data tiles

While reviewing a swing:

  • Tap the screen once to hide playback buttons and controls.
  • Tap again to bring the buttons and controls back.
  • Use the data tile button to hide or show the launch monitor data tiles.

This is useful when you want a cleaner swing video view or when you want to focus on specific performance numbers.

Save your swing

If Auto Save is turned on, HandyGolf will automatically save the swing and data to your library.

If Auto Save is not enabled:

  1. Tap Save after reviewing the swing.
  2. Add any details you want, such as:
    • Comments
    • Swing position
    • Shot shape
    • Other notes
  3. Tap Save again to store the swing in your Handy Golf library.

Troubleshooting connection issues

If your Full Swing KIT does not appear or will not connect:

  • Confirm Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your phone.
  • Make sure the Full Swing KIT is powered on.
  • Open the Full Swing app first if needed to confirm the KIT device ID.
  • Disconnect the KIT from the Full Swing app before trying to connect in Handy Golf.
  • Remember that the Full Swing KIT can only connect to one app or device at a time.
  • Restart the Handy Golf app and try connecting again.

Summary

Using Full Swing KIT with Handy Golf allows you to combine swing video with launch monitor data in one place. After connecting through Launch Monitor Mode, select your club, hit a shot, review the data, customize your tiles, and save the swing to your library for future analysis.
